Marina Costa Lobo (D.Phil. Politics, 2001) is political science researcher with habilitation at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a guest lecturer in political science at ISCTE-IUL. She was one of the founders of the Portuguese Election Study, and has been part of the team that fields electoral studies in Portugal since 2002. Her research interests focus on electoral behaviour and political institutions in Portugal in a comparative perspective. She has published books and articles on the subject, and most recently in Electoral Studies, Democratization, and European Journal of Political Research. She has been a member of the project on “Open Budget Initiative” which analyses the transparency of the Portuguese budget, and regularly contributes with articles for the national press being a regular columnist for the Jornal de Negócios.
