Guilherme Ferreira

Guilherme Ferreira is an economist and senior civil servant at the Ministry of Finance, where he has been working on financial and budgetary matters since 2022. He prepares Portugal’s representation in European and international forums, notably ECOFIN, the Eurogroup and the European Stability Mechanism, and also takes part in missions with the European Commission, the IMF and the OECD.

He previously worked as a statistician at the European Central Bank and at Statistics Portugal, specialising in national accounts and in statistics on income, poverty and household finances. He has also served as an inspector at the Social Security system.

He holds a Master’s degree in Monetary and Financial Economics from ISCTE-IUL, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Polytechnic of Leiria, and a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Coimbra. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at ISEG – University of Lisbon
