The “Inter-Generational Justice Index” project, developed by the Institute of Public Policy and supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, is part of a series of works that the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has been developing over the past five years.
This project consists of constructing six inter-generational justice indexes in different dimensions (housing, labor market, environment, public finances, health, inequality and poverty), from which an inter-generational justice index for Portugal will be built, which can have an annual periodicity and be updated annually.
The project’s objective is to give prominence, in public and political debate, to inter-generational justice issues, identify where the most relevant inter-generational injustices manifest themselves, and understand to what extent public policies have contributed to aggravating or mitigating these injustices.
