
Tiago Ricardo
Tiago Ricardo has a degree in Economics from ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management (University of Lisbon), having specialised in Economics and Public Policy at the same institution. He has been honoured with the Professor Jacinto Nunes (Bank of Portugal) and Caixa Geral de Depósitos awards, among others, and was awarded a research scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2023). He is currently Executive Assistant at the Institute of Public Policy.
His research has been based on the use of econometric models applied to public and social policies, with evidence published in the European Journal of Business Economics. He has also developed a preliminary proposal to reform the Portuguese electoral system towards a mixed proportional representation model.
His public and associative involvement culminated in his being honoured with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Medal of Merit in 2024. He is a guest columnist for Observador, where he writes about the economy, politics and youth.
